Food godowns under WBSWC comprises of 59 (fifty nine) godowns under RIDF scheme, 8 (eight) primary warehouses, 3 (three) Govt. Food Depots, 3 (three) godowns under PEG scheme, 3 (three) godowns under RKVY scheme and 76 (seventy six) private hired godowns with a total capacity of 6.53 lakh MT spread all across West Bengal.

The major food item is Rice. Other food items include pulses, oilseeds, tea etc.
