Government Food Depot
West Bengal State Warehousing Corporation (WBSWC), under the administrative control of the Dept. of Food & Supplies, was entrusted with the managerial jurisdiction of entire Government Food Depot at Cossipore, Bagrakote and Shalimar.
As per Government guideline the godown sheds of GFD,Cossipore will primarily be offered by WBSWC to the District Controller (F&S).In case non-requirement of DCF&S the godown sheds may be offered to third party depositors for the storage of both food and non food items.
The godown sheds at GFD,Bagrakote and GFD,Shalimar are exclusively for the use of Dept. of Food & Supplies for the storage of rice meant to be distributed through Public Distribution System.
